Easton Airport’s Aviation Career Education (ACE) Committee is pleased to announce the return of the “ACE Tent” to Easton Airport Day on October 12, 2024. The tent will host a variety of aviation flight schools, businesses, organizations, and pilots with the mission to engage students and help them explore career pathways in aviation.
The ACE Tent, first introduced to Easton Airport Day in 2019, has become a popular attraction. It offers the community an opportunity to learn about aviation directly from industry professionals. The tent also serves as a hub for event information, raffles, beverages, and Easton Airport Day merchandise.
This year, AECOM is the proud sponsor of the ACE Tent and ACE Program. Their support helps the program continue its mission of inspiring the next generation to pursue careers in aviation.
“We are thrilled to sponsor the Aviation Career Education Tent at Easton Airport Day in partnership with Easton Airport and Talbot County,” said AECOM Client Account Manager Jennifer Lutz. “As the Engineer of Record for Easton Airport, we see this collaboration as a perfect synergy, aligning with our commitment to fostering the next generation of aviation professionals. Our goal is to inspire and educate young individuals who aspire to careers in the aviation industry, ensuring a bright future for both our community and the aviation sector.”
2024 has been a successful year for the ACE Program. The program launched several summer activities for kids in partnership with the Civil Air Patrol Easton Squadron. Students learned about aircraft characteristics, airport design, and built model rockets. Radial Engines 101 with Captain Hunter Harris offered an inside look at those marvelous machines. Several Walk & Talk tours with community members and organizations were conducted. The program also hosted STEM LEADERs, Let’s Fly Now!, and funded discovery flights for dozens of kids.
“AECOM’s sponsorship is a major boost to the ACE Program’s efforts to continue developing initiatives to help foster student interest in aviation,” said Easton Airport Manager Micah Risher. “The ACE Tent is the perfect spot during Easton Airport Day for guests to learn about the opportunities available in aviation while seeing the aircraft and skillful flying in person.”
