History

Easton Airport (ESN) is a general aviation airport located just two (2) miles north of historic downtown of Easton Maryland in Talbot County.   The Airport is owned and operated by Talbot County and provides essential access for aviation enthusiasts, corporate pilots, and local businesses. Constructed for use by the military during World War II, today Easton Airport is one of the busiest general aviation facilities in Maryland, linking Talbot County to the entire country and to the world. DCA GATEWAY AIRPORT

As of February 2017, Easton became a TSA approved DCA Access Fixed Base Operator Standard Security Program.

Easton will serve as a gateway airport, allowing certain pre-cleared general aviation operations, including corporate aircraft, charter flights, and on-demand operations, to fly directly into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).

Environmental

With ESN’s proximity to the Chesapeake Bay, and being responsible for the largest green space in Talbot County, every effort is made to be a good environmental neighbor. Our environmental management steps taken to protect our waterways include:

Construction of two spill-containment fuel truck parking areas
A double spill-containment fuel farm
South apron stormwater system which feeds into a 20,000 gallon oil-water separator before flowing through a mile of swales and three sediment basins before leaving the airport.

Prior to any construction, the airport conducts an Environmental Assessment to determine any significant effects on our area’s environmental resources once the project is complete. This process also reveals whether any negative affects may occur during the construction process in order to eliminate any potential damage.

Through the Fly Neighborly program, noise abatement procedures have been published to minimize flights over the Town of Easton.
