Terminal Building Renovation Update

Easton Airport is excited to share a progress report on the renovations within the terminal building. Prior to the closure of the cafe in June 2025, the airport conducted a comprehensive F&B Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process. It was determined that a phased renovation of the space was the most effective way to modernize the facility and improve accessibility for all users.

Phase One: Enhanced Public Amenities

The first goal of this project is to provide a more functional and comfortable environment for our visitors. The former dining room space is scheduled to be ready by Spring 2026 and will feature:

  • Expanded Seating & Workspace: Comfortable seating areas, workspace and planning area, and wall-mounted televisions.
  • Connectivity: Free Wi-Fi and information boards with airport resources and community updates.
  • Self-Service Refreshments: Snack and beverage vending machines, self-service coffee station, and microwave will be located along the main interior wall. Furniture and equipment for this area are currently on order, ideas are welcome!

Phase Two: 24-Hour Airside Access

A future component of this renovation is the transition to 24/7 access from the airside portion of the building. This will ensure that pilots and passengers arriving outside of standard business hours have inside access to restrooms and refreshments.

Future Planning and Community Engagement

The former kitchen space will remain unfinished through the summer as we evaluate long-term options. We invite our tenants and the public to share ideas or requests for future services as we continue to explore options for the long-term use of this facility.

Acknowledgments

As construction nears completion, we would like to extend our thanks to the Talbot County Facilities Maintenance team, especially Rick Potter, for the craftsmanship and dedication shown during this phase of renovations. Combined with the Easton Airport Maintenance Team’s hard work during the demolition phase, this project stands as a proud in-house achievement and a testament to the collaboration between Talbot County Government departments.
